A Fraction is PART of Something.
Today we will begin our work on fraction story problems. Remember you must understand what is going on in the story as well as what the problem is asking you to do. I find the best way with fractions is to draw a picture. It's always a good strategy!
Work must be:
**Please write down each problem.**
1) Joseph and Erick were starving. They decided to go out for pizza and eat as much as they could. Erick ate one whole pizza and three halves of other pizzas. Joseph ate two whole pizzas and two halves of other pizzas as well. Who ate more pizza, how do you know?
2) Manuel and German were sharing candy bars. They each wanted a piece of each candy bar so they could taste to see which was their favorite. If they had 6 candy bars to share, how much did they each get to eat?
3) Miriam, Ben, Martin and Joseph were also sharing candy bars and they too wanted a piece of each candy bar to see which one was their favorite. If they also had 6 candy bars to share, how much did they each get to eat?
Work must be:
